Lizzo continues to advocate diversity for all body types. She took to Instagram to announce her new clothing brand “YITTY”. YITTY will be an all-inclusive shapewear brand that will range from sizes 6XL to an XS.
Lizzo posted a bold, untouched closeup shot wearing the jersey-style underwear emblazoned with “YITTY.” The caption read, “This is a dream 5 years in the making…. Introducing @YITTY: Shapewear you can wear Underwear, Overwear, Anywhere. For Every Damn Body. 6X to Xs. Are you ready for the YITTY LIBERATION? Coming soon…”
The shapewear is set to launch on Tuesday, April 12 at 8 AM PST on yitty.fabletics.com. There is currently a waitlist available for those who want to be notified on the drop day.
Lizzo then posted a photo with six women with all different body types and skin colors posed from behind wearing only the YITTY jersey-style panties. She captioned the photo with an inspirational letter to “everybody,” encouraging women to “be who you are on your terms,” to stop wearing uncomfortable garments and reclaim their bodies.
Lizzo said, “This is a love letter to my big grrrls, and a welcome letter to Every Body. This is *not* an invitation to change who you are… this is an opportunity to BE who you are on your terms. I don’t know about y’all— but I’m sick of people telling me how I’m supposed to look and feel about my body. I’m tired of discomfort being synonymous with sexy. If it’s uncomfortable TAKE IT OFF. And if it makes you feel good PUT IT ON. @YITTY isn’t just shapewear, it’s your chance to reclaim your body and redefine your beauty standard. I love y’all—
Lizzo recently announced her new show on Amazon Prime, “Watch Out For The Big Grrrls.” The series follows ten hopeful participants as they compete for the chance to dance backup for the singer on her upcoming world tour.
The grrrls, as Lizzo calls them, will be “girls that look like me” that “don’t get representation.” The contestants will live together in the “Big Grrrls House” and compete for the top prize that has yet to be announced.
