Marvel Studios has readied Phase 5 of the MCU with a new trailer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which releases in February.
It’s Kang’s time. On Monday night (January 10), Marvel Studios dropped a new trailer for long-awaited film Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which introduces Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Kang the Conqueror as new supervillain. Played by Jonathan Majors, the appearance will technically be Kang’s second in the MCU since his debut in the finale of Disney Plus series Loki.
Directed by Peyton Reed, the third Ant-Man film reintroduces Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, respectively, alongside Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Lang’s now-adult daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) also appears in the film, accidentally opening the Quantum Realm when the team is met by Kang and otherworldly creatures.

“You have a daughter, but have lost a lot of time, like me,” Kang tells Ant-Man in the trailer. “We can help each other with that.”
When Ant-Man asks who Kang is, the villain responds, “I’m the man who can give you what you want… Time.”
The trailer shows an epic showdown between Ant-Man and Kang, the former who initially tries to reason with his crew that Kang can give him a “second chance.” Instead, the two get get into a combat, with Ant-Man claiming that he doesn’t “have to win” against Kang, but they “both just have to lose.”

In a recent interview with IndieWire, Reed explained that he grew up a “real Marvel comics nerd,” with Kang the Conqueror being one of his favorite villains.
“In conversations with Kevin Feige and Marvel, it was like, I want to put Ant-Man and Wasp up against a really formidable villain in this movie, and so we’re doing Kang the Conqueror,” Reed said. “In the comics, Kang has dominion over time, he’s a time traveler.”
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17.
