Dapper Dan’s Gap Hoodie Is Getting Restocked

With the first release of Dapper Dan’s limited-edition Gap hoodie being sold out, the brand has announced plans to restock the exclusive.
Dapper Dan’s Gap hoodie is making a comeback. After immediately being sold out online earlier this month, the $99 limited-edition exclusive hoodie is returning to the Gap website on March 29 at 12 PM ET.
With a coral-pink colorway, DAP x Gap is the Harlem legend’s first collaboration with the brand, as part of Gap’s Spring 2022 “American Dream” campaign. During the last DAP x Gap drop, the hoodies sold out within five minutes despite being available for preorder. It appears that bots and resellers took advantage of the exclusive, with some even reselling them for as high as $500. Through Gap, the hoodies will ship to purchasers in June.
Earlier this month, Dan spoke with Complex about aligning with Gap and his hip-hop fashion roots.
“We should be in those spaces that the Gap offers us because we can reach everybody and make them feel good. I got into fashion initially because it made me feel good,” Dan said. “I walk out of that neighborhood, I go downtown with something fashionable, and all of a sudden I move beyond a certain status symbol that’s associated with people in the lower classes. Whether it’s LL Cool J, Kanye, or Dapper Dan, we give a chance for people to feel us, to feel our presence, and to tap into something that they feel is elite at the same time.”
