The statement seemed shocking considering the history the “Like You” rapper has madd with the So So Def label head Jermaine Dupri.
The “Basketball” rapper could be referring to the time when he was featured on the intro for Snoop Dogg’s debut album Doggystyle.
In 2020,Bow Wow announced he was retiring from rap which got a lot of laughter from trolls on social media. However, he recently signed with Snoop Dogg’s newly reacquired label Death Row Records which will focus one NFTs.
The “Take Ya Home rapper’s comments come at a time when some artists are going after the labels they start out with. Artists such as Megan Thee Stallion and Griselda have recently spoken out against their labels on Twitter.
This statement seems like complete 360. In 2018 Bow Wow asserted that Jermaine Dupri was more like his father.
“My pops wasn’t even around. Then after that I was in my LA with Snoop and them. And came back home, still didn’t see my pops. Then Jermaine called. Once Jermaine called, Jermaine became my real father. Now, if you want to keep it a buck, that’s who I call pops…That’s who took me shopping. That’s who made me look fresh in school. It was Jermaine who taught me everything.”
Megan Thee Stallion has clapped back with a heavy hand against her record label’s claims that they’re not paying her because she owes them music. Megan said they’re drug addicts, money hungry, and are scapegoating her when the real issue is with Houston music icon, J. Prince.
Conway appeared on the Bootleg Kev Podcast to announce that he is leaving rap group Griselda and going solo. Conway has no beef and still supports his former group members, but he said it is time for a bigger bag.
